What is the HC12?
The HC12 is a rack mounted workstation with a powerful graphics card and a remote compression chip. The compression chip enables real time rendering of graphics and sound to a remote workstation device from the security of a data center.

What protocol does the HC12 use to communicate with the remote workstation device?
The protocol is referred to as PC-over-IP™ and is a hardware based compression technology that sends audio video and USB over a standard IP network.

What operating systems are supported?
Currently the only operating system supported by Devon IT is Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. This is the preloaded operating system.

Is the HC12 Windows Vista capable?
The HC12 is Windows Vista capable but is not currently supported.

Does the HC12 support Linux operating systems? Will it work? Do we plan to support them in the future?
Some Linux operating systems will work on the HC12 but they are not supported and there is currently no plan to support any Linux OS.

Does the HC12 have redundant power supplies? What is the wattage?
No, the HC12 has a single power supply

Maximum heat dissipation for 750W power supply: 2559 BTU/hr
NOTE: Heat dissipation is calculated based upon the power supply wattage rating.

What is the maximum memory (RAM) that the HC12 will support?
The HC12 can accommodate up to 32GB of memory. 4 DIMM slots can accommodate up to 8GB ECC DIMMS each.

How many PCI slots are available? What type of slots?
The HC12 has 4 PCI slots total. There are 2 PCI Express x16 slots each with 150W available as well as a PCI Express x16 that is wired as x8 and a PCI 32-bit slot at 5V. All slots can support full height and full length PCI cards.

How many graphics cards are needed to support a Quad monitor configuration?
To support a 4 monitor configuration, the HC12 needs a Quad monitor graphics card along
with 2 host cards for two remote access devices. Each host card and remote access device supports up to 2 monitors.

What network card is included in the HC12?
The HC12 has 2 Broadcom NetXtreme 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Controllers.

Does the HC12 include rack rails in the box?
Yes, they are included.

How long is the standard hardware warranty on the HC12 server? What does the warranty cover?
There is a standard 3 year warranty on the hardware.

Does the HC12 have a remote management module similar to the AMM on IBM servers?
No it does not.

Does the TC10 support RDP version 6?
No, there is currently no support for the additional features included in RDP version 6.0 and above.

Does the TC10 support IPv6?
IPv6 support with PCoIP is on the roadmap and scheduled for the second quarter of 2009.

What is the default state of the remote management host card and client? What are the IP addresses?
The host and client are configured with DHCP enabled by default. If a DHCP server is not present the endpoints will fallback to static IP addresses (120 seconds after start-up).
The static IP addresses are:
Host: 192.168.1.100
Client: 192.168.1.50
Both will also have the following configuration for fallback:
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.0
If a DHCP server is present and default settings are used, the host and the client will populate the DHCP server with a hostname in the form of pcoip-host-mac.domain or pcoip-portal-mac.domain where mac is the 6 octet device MAC address and domain is the local domain.

How many hard drives can be installed? What is the maximum storage capacity of the supported drives?
The HC12 can accommodate two 3.5” SATA hard drives. The unit is shipped with one 250GB SATA 3.0Gb/s drive. The HC12 can support up to two 1TB SATA drives.

Does the HC12 support RAID?
The HC12 has an integrated SATA 3.0Gb/s controller (Intel Chipset) that supports host based (software) RAID 0 and RAID 1.
