Devon IT, a leading provider of thin client and virtual desktop solutions, today announced the availability of free VDI Blaster™ software for any current Lenovo customer using VMware. This offer from Devon IT is valid for 5 free copies of VDI Blaster™ and is available now through June 30, 2014.
Devon IT VDI Blaster™ is the leading software tool currently available in the growing VDI market that enables a PC to act as a thin client. VDI Blaster™ converts PCs into secure and centrally manageable desktop devices, enables organizations to realize benefits of thin client computing, and extends capital investment in PCs.
There are many benefits that VDI Blaster™ has to offer. Once a PC needs to be transitioned due to Windows XP remediation, VDI Blaster™ provides a simple plug-and-play solution to transform the PC into a thin client and easily access a virtual environment through VMware Horizon View. It also allows the PCs to return to their previous state if necessary. Additionally, VDI Blaster™ offers the benefits of a thin client when migrating or extending a virtual desktop environment.
“VMware customers know that virtual desktop computing can enable a wide range of benefits. This free VDI Blaster offer will allow many users to test out the power of our end-to-end solution for no up front cost. Lenovo’s VMware customers will be able to experience the extended value of desktop virtualization that our current VDI Blaster customers are already seeing. We are committed to expanding the market potential for virtual technologies, and are thrilled to share this offer.”
– Joe Makoid, President, Devon IT
VDI Blaster™ is based on the same operating system that Lenovo’s M32 and M73 thin clients use. Repurposed PCs running VDI Blaster™ can be managed by Lenovo Terminal Manager (LTM) – a universal thin client management software platform that ties a virtual desktop environment together and is compatible with the entire Devon IT software stack. It manages every device running Devon IT VDI Blaster™ software and comes included with each VDI Blaster™ license. Features of LTM include thin client system image updates, maintenance and management functionality, including inventory, status, and remote service, as well as profiling, logging and shadowing.
