One Of China's Largest Banks replaces PCs with over 2,500 NTAVO 6010 Thin-Client Linux-Based Terminals To Enable Secure, Remote Access.
King of Prussia, PA, September 28, 2004 Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), one of the four biggest state-owned commercial banks in China, has standardized on Linux-based NTAVO thin-client terminals throughout its China offices and branches. The NTAVO thin-client provides ABC with freedom from Windows' security concerns and an adherence to open standards, which gives their IT managers more flexibility in what they choose to deploy across back-end systems.
"We chose the NTAVO terminal because it enables us to access the capability of today's most powerful personal computers at much lower up-front and total costs," explained Ye Xiao, Project Manager, Agricultural Bank of China. "Because NTAVO products are Linux-based, they are more secure, more reliable and more manageable than PCs. This provides us with significant improvements in cost savings and security."
The NTAVO terminal deployment enables ABC's remote branches to securely access financial information from central data repositories, consolidate management of IT resources, and leverages their existing investments in hardware, software and network infrastructure.
"NTAVO thin client terminals provided an ideal solution for ABC to improve the security and reliability of their computer systems," explained Ning Liu, President and CEO, Devon IT. "We have worked carefully to build an advanced Linux-based thin-client terminal that enables customers to easily implement a secure remote-access solution. NTAVO thin client terminals improve our customers' security, enhance their ability to manage large numbers of desktops, and improve the reliability of their computing environments. These advantages help customers like ABC lower their total cost of ownership."
The NTAVO 6010 Terminal is a mini form-factor PC designed to be a cost-effective alternative to standard PCs. The terminal contains an optimized Red Hat Linux distribution. Using the "Server Centric Computing" approach to enterprise information access, the NTAVO Terminal minimizes the cost of support by centralizing management.
