Server-Desktop Solution Center Named IBM-Certified BladeCenter and Storage Solution Center (BSSC) Facility
IBM recognizes data solution center at Devon IT, CentriServ headquarters as Pennsylvania’s first “Center for Excellence”
King of Prussia, PA, February 26, 2008 – – Devon IT, a leading alternative desktop solution company and the fastest-growing provider of thin client solutions, and their integration arm, CentriServ, an IBM reseller and integrator, today announced their headquarters’ Server-Desktop Solution Center as an IBM-certified BladeCenter and Storage Solution Center (BSSC) “Center for Excellence.”
IBM’s BSSC program allows leading business partners to demonstrate the strengths and benefits of IBM blades and storage technology in solving IT needs of customers. It requires participating firms to implement IBM servers in conjunction with their own hardware and software solutions inside their Center, and to pass numerous technical and sales tests. Business partners who qualify for this program have access to IBM marketing and expert content.
“We launched our Server-Desktop Solution Center in February 2007, and for the first time it allowed IT personnel, customers, and business partners to bring their own servers to test server-centric computing live,” says Joe Makoid, President, Devon IT. “With our integration arm, CentriServ, we are proud this Center has been recognized by our business partner IBM as a BSSC Center for Excellence. We will continue our joint efforts with IBM representatives to educate more IT teams through tours and live demonstrations about our hosted client, virtualization, implementation, and consulting solutions, along with IBM BladeCenters.”

IBM, Devon IT and CentriServ will host an event on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, for end-users interested in learning more about hosted-server technology. Customers will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on demonstrations and tours of the Center, and will have the chance to speak with sales and engineering staff about any of their IBM needs. Speakers will include Dr. Tom Bradicich, IBM Fellow and VP of Systems Technology, System x and BladeCenter Servers; Joe Makoid, President, Devon IT; Anthony Falsone, President, CentriServ; Ed Batewell, IBM System x and HV Storage Channel Technical Sales; and Stephane Verdy, CTO, Devon IT.
