New Team Focused on Linux-Based Appliance and Thin Client Products
King of Prussia, PA, January 17, 2005 Devon IT today announced the expansion of the Devon IT management team with three information technology industry veterans. Joe Makoid will join as President of Devon IT. Also joining Devon IT are Mark Nowakowski as Vice President of Sales and Paul Mancini as Vice President of Marketing.

Joe Makoid is a 20-year technology industry veteran. In 1987, he co-founded Bus-Tech, the industry's largest supplier of interconnect controllers and was instrumental in selling the company to Network Systems Corp. In addition, Joe founded Data Center Direct in 1999 and expanded the scope to include the Management Services Provider model. Data Center Direct was acquired by Safeguard in 2000 to provide the foundation for Safeguard Global Services. Prior to joining Devon, Joe was Executive Vice President, Business Development for Tarantella. Before that, Joe was founder and CEO of Managed Service Partners, International. Joe has built several large and successful international sales organizations and structured multi million dollar OEM contracts with many leading companies including IBM, Unisys, Hitachi, AT&T, SunGard and Novell.
Paul Mancini has over 15 years experience marketing innovative solutions to companies that use information technology as a fundamental part of their business strategy. Paul led marketing efforts at emerging technology companies such as eCal, Emax and EcomXML as well as helping establish systems integration and consulting businesses within companies such as GE and Lockheed Martin. Paul also founded Atwood Marketing, a consultancy focused on supporting early-stage and emerging companies.
Mark Nowakowski has over 20 years of successful sales, marketing and management experience in the information technology field. Mark was most recently the founder and President of Progress Systems. While there he spearheaded development of software for secure data storage on disk, which was later sold. Prior to this Mark was Vice President of Sales for Data Center Direct and earlier, Director of Sales for Bus-Tech, Inc. Mark had also had successful senior sales positions at Digital Equipment Corporation.
