Companies’ VCS experts to outline virtual desktop, server consolidation, and thin client benefits for enterprise IT executives and partners.

Devon IT, a leading alternative desktop solution company, and IBM will host a Virtual Client Solutions (VCS) informational seminar at IBM’s Madison Avenue office in New York City on Friday, February 20.

Information technology executives in all-sized firms are invited to join this special Friday afternoon session where Devon IT, IBM and other presenters will host a series of discussions on VCS and how companies are benefiting from server consolidation and alternative-desktop computing with thin clients.

Presentations will start at 1:00PM at the IBM offices at 590 Madison Avenue in New York City.  Space is limited and interested customers and partners are encouraged to register for this free event at http://www.devonit.com/LeaveWorkEarlyEvent/.  Devon IT will host a happy hour at the end of the sessions.  Agenda and location details are provided upon registration.

“Especially in these difficult economic times, IT personnel, CFOs and CEOs are considering all ways to cut costs. The implementation of virtual clients can significantly cut IT expenses for firms in all industries, and savings can be realized from day one,” says Stephane Verdy, chief technology officer for Devon IT. “Devon IT and its business partner IBM continue to develop ways to reduce IT costs for their clients. The VCS solution, comprising server consolidation and transitioning from PCs to thin clients, can drastically and immediately reduce energy costs. Hardware, maintenance, and management costs can also be mitigated through the use of VCS. We look forward to bringing this solution to more firms across the country with IBM, and hope the event in New York City will spark our momentum.”

Presentations will include an overview of VCS offerings, how to get VCS right on the first try, and enterprise consolidation using hosted and virtual desktop technologies.
