Devon IT Europe Announces That its Thin Clients are Now VMware Ready Certified for VMware View
“By combining Devon IT’s thin clients with VMware View, enterprises can be equipped with cost-effective desktop solutions that help enable the management, security, flexibility and deployment benefits of virtualized desktop environments,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware.
Devon IT Europe, an alternative desktop solution company and the fastest growing provider of thin client terminals, today announced that its newly announced Intel Atom-based TC5 thin client, the ultra-small TC2 thin client, and SafeBook® thin client notebooks running on Microsoft Windows XP Embedded and Devon IT’s DeTOS operating systems are now VMware ReadyTM Certified. This designation indicates that Devon IT’s thin clients have completed the VMware Certification Program testing criteria for use with VMware ViewTM and are now listed on the VMware View Compatibility Guide. This Certification Program enables thin client vendors who are VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program members to provide mutual customers with a jointly supported virtual desktop solution.
Passing the extensive certification testing helps ensure that Devon IT’s thin clients are compatible with VMware technology and ready for deployment in customer environments.
“By combining Devon IT’s thin clients with VMware View, enterprises can be equipped with cost-effective desktop solutions that help enable the management, security, flexibility and deployment benefits of virtualized desktop environments,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware. “We are pleased that Devon IT’s thin clients qualify for the VMware Ready Certified logo, signifying to customers that they have passed specific VMware integration and interoperability criteria and are ready to seamlessly integrate into a VMware View solution.”
“More and more of our customers are virtualizing their desktops with thin clients, and this certification is a natural extension of our commitment with VMware to meet growing customer demand,” explained Adrian Hedges, General Manager of Devon IT Europe. “Especially in these challenging economic times, IT administrators need to be certain that their solutions offer them the highest levels of compatibility and flexibility. VMware View coupled with Devon IT thin clients deliver this value and peace of mind, and we are proud to accept this certification and give our customers even more options.”
The VMware Ready program is a VMware co-branding program for qualified partner products and is a benefit of the VMware TAP program. With more than 900 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
