Devon IT Announces Thin Client Models are Now VMware View 3.1 Ready Certified
IBM-orderable TC2 and TC5 thin clients, SafeBook® LVO mobile thin client certified for use with latest version of VMware View.
Devon IT, Inc., a leading alternative desktop solution company and the fastest growing provider of thin client terminals, today announced that its TC2, TC5, and SafeBook LVO® thin client models are VMware View 3.1 Desktop Virtualization (VDI) certified. This designation indicates the models have completed the VMware Hardware Certification Program testing criteria for use with VMware View 3.1 and are now listed on the VMware Hardware Compatibility Guide. The VMware Hardware Certification Program enables VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program members to provide mutual customers with jointly supported hardware solutions.
Passing the extensive certification testing helps ensure that Devon IT is compatible with VMware technology and ready for deployment in customer environments.
“By combining Devon IT’s thin client models with VMware View, enterprises can centralize management, increase security and improve overall TCO,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware. “We are pleased that the TC2, TC5 and SafeBook qualify for the VMware Ready Certified logo, signifying to customers that these thin client models have passed specific VMware integration and interoperability criteria.”
“VMware View 3.1 improves an already powerful, flexible user experience with various performance and technical upgrades,” says Stephane Verdy, chief technology officer for Devon IT. “Thin clients have small footprints and small price tags but when running VMware View provide a powerful, cost-effective alternative to traditional PC desktops. We are proud of our continued relationship with VMware and are anxious to deploy VMware View 3.1 with our thin clients to customers.”
The VMware Ready program is a VMware co-branding program for qualified partner products and is a benefit of the VMware TAP program. With more than 1,000 members worldwide, the VMware TAP program works with best-of-breed technology partners to provide them a comprehensive set of VMware technical and marketing services, support, tools and expertise to deliver enhanced value to joint customers.
