The Desktop Nightmare” webinar for CIOs designed to outline cost savings and management benefits of virtual desktop computing in an enterprise environment

Devon IT, an alternative desktop computing leader, today announced it will host “The Desktop Nightmare,” a series of free online seminars for CIOs of enterprise companies.

Enterprise executives and CIOs continue to search for ways to save on IT costs. Virtual desktop computing models with thin clients, virtualization software, and consolidated blades and servers can drastically lower annual desktop costs. “The Desktop Nightmare” webinar series breaks down the cost-savings and management benefits for senior IT executives and their desktop strategists.

“Many enterprise companies are switching from PCs to server-hosted desktops, citing cost-savings as a main reason for transitioning,” noted Joe Makoid, President of Devon IT. “Executives in all verticals are looking for ways to cut back on costs, and many companies are unknowingly spending a great deal of capital on their underutilized desktop PCs. With virtual desktops, companies realize significant security, total cost of ownership, increased productivity and flexibility benefits. We look forward to discussing new desktop strategies with some of the country’s top CIOs during this webinar series.”

Webinars will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 10:00 AM EST and 2:00 PM EST. The one-hour webinar will outline how thin clients run enterprise applications, discuss software packages from Citrix, VMware, RedHat, and Microsoft, and demonstrate cost, data security, and energy benefits. Alternative sessions are also available by request by emailing info@devonit.com.
